MILASINOVICH WIN 35TH BUDWEISER MMBA MATCH GAME
Mark Milasinovich picked the right tournament to win his first Budweiser Michigan Majors title
at Parkway Lanes in Trenton. The Match Game Championship is the first leg of the MMBA
“Triple Crown.”
Milasinovich the #15 seed had to defeat the #1 seed Ed Danner. The Championship match
is the first to win 3 in a 5 game match. Milasinovich won the first 2 games 234-225, 258-236.
Danner won 229-215 and Mark closed it out with a 236-185 win.
Danner rolled two 300 games in the qualifying round for a 1574 total to pace the 81 entries.
Bob Chamberlain Jr. also had a 300 game in the qualifying round.
Milasinovich did not lose one game in the best of 3 game matches on his way to the
championship match. Mark defeated Jordan Born 268-257, 229-199; Nunzio Marino 247-
236. Milasinovich had to turn it up another notch to defeat Hall of Famer Dale Hofmeister, the
all time money leader with 15 titles. He won 260-257, 300-259.
Danner defeated Terry Haines 257-166, lost 268-269, 234-213. He then eliminated Hall of
Famer Larry Walker 257-212, 278-226 and Mike Calhoun 225-150, 259-247.
This was the second year in a row to place 2nd for Danner. “I just have got to figure a way
to close it out, hopefully next year, “ said Danner.
“This is just awesome,” said Milasinovich. “It is an honor to have my name banner hanging
with all the great bowlers that have won this tournament.”
The next tournament is April 17 at Plaza Lanes in Plymouth.
